IDEX Provided the Platform for Chemring's Press Briefing

IDEX is the only international defence exhibition and conference in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region demonstrating the latest tehnology across land, sea and air sectors of defence.

This year, Chemring exhibited a model of CENTURION, its innovative, fully trainable naval launcher.  This system, originally conceived to optimise countermeasure performance, is inherently versatile with a design that allows for adaptation.  It is intended to exploit this versatility by extending the range of effectors it can employ to include RF and IR countermeasures, anti-torpedo decoys and short range surface-to-surface missiles.

IDEX provided a great platform to announce Chemring's collaborative agreement with Raytheon Missile Systems to develop a Ship Protection System.  This highly exciting initiative combines Chemring's novel multi-mission launcher, CENTURION, with a variety of Raytheon's combat-tested missiles for use on ships ranging in size from small patrol boats to large combatants.
